For this mega project to succeed I needed to assemble a team of mega artists… Lucky for me – but unlucky for them – Don, Meg and Jordan all agreed!
We started with three boards, each a metre squared, sanded, then painted them with black gesso primer.
After going over the black background with a clean coat of paint, here is the final result… Three large boards together as a unified design, each displaying a whole bunch of unique artworks containing memories of our previous art collaborations. Nice!
And then we glued and pressed and smoothed, and glued and pressed and smoothed again – each layer getting its own coating of sealant. There are so many processes to get through in this kind of art… it takes time, effort and perseverance – even with a team of four artists – which isn’t always obvious from the refined final result.
